Web media is abuzz with speculations that Sony is set to launch its new flagship smartphone on August 29. According to Xperiablog, the upcoming phone, which is codenamed Sony Xperia LT 29i Hayabusa, will be called Sony Xperia TX. If launched on the rumoured date, it will clash with Samsung Unpacked 2012, the company's event scheduled during the same time. Galaxy Note 2 is expected to be rolled out at Samsung Unpacked 2012.
Sony Xperia TX is expected to have a 4.6-inch touchscreen with resolution of 1280×720 pixel. This Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich)-powered device is expected to run on a 1.5GHz dual-core processor with 1GB memory.
It is expected to feature a 13MP camera with Sony Exmor R sensor and flash in the rear. Rumours also suggest that a 1.3MP video calling camera will be placed in the front panel of the purported Sony Xperia TX, which is expected to be available in 16GB version only.
