CHANDIGARH: Haryana Education and Industrial Training Minister Geeta Bhukkal said the state government was constantly promoting technical education “but the results were not that satisfactory”.
“Due to the vast development made in the industrial sector in the state, the need of skilled workers was also rising,” an official release quoting her said.
Bhukkal, however regretted, the youth of the state were not able to reap the benefits of industrial development in the state.
The Minister emphasized the need of re-structuring of the working of Industrial Training Department and said that new training courses would be started in these institutes keeping in view the latest needs of the industrial sector.
Bhukkal was addressing the principals of the Industrial Training Institutes in a review meeting here today.
She said that ITIs would be provided with all necessary basic amenities.
She said that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had started National Capacity Building Framework to create job opportunities in view of the industrial needs of today.
The Minister said that there was a need for the youth to get vocational training along with basic education so that they could avail benefits of the industrial advancement.
She urged the Principals to bring improvement in imparting training to the students. She said that there were 119 Industrial training Institutes in the state, out of which 30 were exclusively for women.
An ITI was being set up at each block of the state. There was no dearth of Industrial Training Institutes, but these required effective management, she said and asked the principals to give suggestions to the department about new courses and new syllabus so that these could be started as per the need.
