The home grown handset maker, Micromax has launched a brand new smartphone in the Indian market, the A84 Superfone Elite. This smartphone comes with a 1GHz processor and a 5.0 megapixel camera with LED flash. There is also a 0.3 megapixel front camera on-board.

Micromax A84 Superfone Elite packs in a 1630mAh battery that claims to 5 hours of talk time and 160 hours of standby time. This smartphone will be available for a street price of Rs. 9,999. This handset comes with 10.1 cms (approximately 4 -inches) WVGA full multi-touch screen. Though there is no word regarding the internal memory of this smartphone, one can expand it up to 32 GB through a microSD card.

On the flip side, when Ice Cream Sandwich has almost become the flavour of the month, it's a bit disappointing to see Micromax offering Android 2.3.6 on this smartphone. Just like the other handsets in the Superfone series, Micromax A84 Superfone Elite also comes with voice assistant AISHA pre-installed on it.

Micromax had launched its 1GHz powered Superfone A52 in June 2012 and it is retailing for approximately Rs. 6,000. Of late, Micromax seems to have got into an aggressive drive of launching smartphones at quite a rapid pace in the country. The most recent addition to its line-up was the Micromax A44 Superfone Punk. This handset has an unique pebble design and runs on Android 2.3. It is available in the market for Rs. 4,500. A44 Superfone Punk is a dual-SIM phone with a 1200mAh battery.
