NEW DELHI: Mobile handset manufacturer Nokia has launched the N8 smartphone with Ovi services which will enable its users to create content, connect to their favourite social networks and enjoy on-demand web TV programmes.
Ovi by Nokia is the brand for Nokia's internet service which can be used by a mobile device or computer. Keeping Indian consumers in mind, Nokia has introduced thousands of applications on the Ovi store optimised for Nokia N8.
Featuring a 3.5-inch AMOLED display, N8's biggest feature is its 12 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash. The phone has a VGA camera for video calling. The phone can record HD videos at 25 frames per second. N8 runs on ARM 11 680 processor.
Measuring 113.5 x 59 x 12.9 mm, the phone weighs 135 grams. As for memory, N8 comes with 16GB internal memory. The phone's battery promises upto 5.5 hours of talktime. The phone can play back MPEG4, H.264, Real and Flash Video.
"The consumer is in the centre of all that we do at Nokia and we are constantly innovating to enhance user experience and address user feedback," said D Shivakumar, vice president and managing director of Nokia India.
Priced at Rs 26,259, the phone will be available across the country from Oct 13 at Nokia priory stores.
