Honor has given smartphone fans another look at its upcoming foldable flagship, the Magic V6, and this time the spotlight is firmly on the display.
A senior Honor executive recently showcased the device in public, highlighting what the company describes as an almost crease-free folding screen. Images and early hands-on impressions suggest the crease on the Magic V6 is significantly less noticeable compared to many rival foldables currently on the market.
Reducing the visible crease has become one of the biggest goals for foldable phone manufacturers over the past few years. While foldables have improved dramatically in durability, thickness, and battery life, the center crease remains one of the few reminders that the device folds in half. Honor now appears determined to minimize that issue as much as possible.
According to early details, the Magic V6 uses a redesigned “Super Steel” hinge system reinforced with AI-assisted structural engineering. Honor claims the hinge distributes pressure more evenly across the display, helping create a smoother folding surface and improving long-term durability.
The company is also emphasizing the phone’s premium build. Despite featuring a large internal foldable display, the Magic V6 reportedly measures just 8.75mm when folded and around 4mm when unfolded, making it one of the slimmest foldable phones ever released. The device is also surprisingly lightweight for its category at roughly 219 grams.
Honor appears to be positioning the Magic V6 as a direct competitor to upcoming premium foldables from Samsung, Oppo, Huawei, and even Apple’s rumored future foldable iPhone project. The company believes foldables should no longer force users to compromise between design, durability, and battery life.
Beyond the display improvements, the Magic V6 is expected to include flagship-level hardware across the board. Reports suggest the foldable will feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, a massive 6,660mAh silicon-carbon battery, 80W wired charging, and advanced AI-powered multitasking features through MagicOS 10 based on Android 16.
Honor is also reportedly focusing heavily on cross-platform ecosystem integration. The Magic V6 may offer deeper compatibility with Apple devices such as Macs, AirPods, and even Apple Watches, allowing smoother file sharing and device connectivity.
The display itself is expected to feature a 7.95-inch internal folding OLED panel alongside a 6.52-inch external screen. Both panels reportedly support 120Hz refresh rates and advanced eye-protection technologies including high-frequency PWM dimming.
While foldables were once considered experimental devices, the Magic V6 shows how quickly the category is maturing. Manufacturers are now competing not only on innovation but also on refinement — thinner bodies, larger batteries, stronger hinges, and increasingly invisible display creases.
If Honor’s early demonstrations reflect real-world performance, the Magic V6 could become one of the most polished foldable smartphones released so far.
