The Delhi High Court has issued an injunction against the unauthorized sharing of course materials from the online education platform “Apna College.” WhatsApp, YouTube, and Telegram have been ordered to comply with the court’s orders. Apna College filed a copyright infringement suit against 17 entities who were sharing its copyrighted content on social media platforms. The court found that the defendants were enticing students by freely distributing copyrighted materials. Google, Telegram, and WhatsApp have been directed to take specific actions to remove or block the infringing content. Mediafire has also been instructed to remove the file-sharing link containing the copyrighted content.
