NEW DELHI: Micromax new Android-based handset, Andro A60 is the latest entry in the Indian smartphone market. The phone weighs 105 gram and the dimensions are 106.8mm x 59.2mm x 14.0mm. The phone runs on Google Android V2.1 also known as Éclair operating system and has a 600 MHz processor.
The phone features a 2.8 inch resistive touch screen which might hinder in the smooth scrolling and swiping. The phone has a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels displaying a total of 56,000 colours. Typing on this screen might be a problem because of the small screen size and non availability of stylus. But inclusion of the swipe input method comes to the rescue.
This smartphone is a 3G enabled device and promises up to 7.2 Mbps speed via HSUPA and up to 5.76 via HSDPA, hence allowing users to go for video calling, video streaming, downloading etc. Andro also has activated GPRS.
As of the connectivity, the phone is Wi-Fi 802.11b/g and Bluetooth enabled and USB v2 port for external connectivity. The phone has memory of 150 MB which is expandable up to 32 GB. The phone also features video recording and a standard 3.5mm standard audio jack. You can also download games and other apps from Android app store.
The phone also has a 3.2 mega-pixel auto focusing camera without a flash. The power source is a 1280mAh battery which promises 4 hours of talk-time and 240 hours of standby.
The phone is priced at Rs 6,999.
