I have a Wi-Fi laptop with Tata Photon+ datacard, Blackberry Curve Phone with Blackberry enterprise package and an iPad with 3G connection. Since three different data services are costing me dearly, I wish to reduce my monthly data expenses by sharing the data connection. Kindly suggest if it can be done.

Ideally, it is a good thing to use different data connection for different devices so that even if one service is not working, you can use the other one. However, from the devices mentioned by you, you cannot skip on the BlackBerry Curve's enterprise service as it uses that to to fetch you mail and other BlackBerry services.

For the Laptop and the iPad, you can share the Tata Photon+ connection by creating a Wi-Fi hotspot. To create a Wi-Fi hotspot from the datacard to use on the iPad and laptop, you can opt for a portable Wi-Fi router such as the Olive Nexus ( 3,000). The other option is to use your laptop to create a hotspot.

Head over to www.connectify.me and install the free version of the software on your laptop. Once installed, it will give you the option to use the datacard's internet connection and create a Wi-Fi hotspot that can then be used on the iPad.

I have a desktop running Intel 1.6Ghz processor,512 MB RAM and 160GB hard disk. From the past few days, whenever I play games on it the PC automatically shuts down or restarts. What can be the problem?

As the problem on your desktop has started from the past few days, it could be most likely due to overheating of the internal components. Over time, dust accumulates on the cooling fans of the cabinet and the processor that leads to the temperature on the processor to go beyond the safe limits.

Once the temperature on the processor crosses the safety limit, the motherboard's BIOS either shuts the PC down or restarts it to stop any hardware intensive application. To solve this issue, we would recommend that you clean your computer's cabinet thoroughly.

Purchase an air blower ( 400) from any electronics shop and use that to blow off any accumulated dust inside the cabinet. Do not keep the pressure on for long at one part as it might damage some components. After that, take a soft cloth and clean the fan blades of the cabinet as well as processor fans to get rid of any remaining dirt.
