Korean giant LG has expanded its smartphone portfolio in the country with the addition of two new handsets LG Optimus 4X HD and LG Optimus L5.

LG Optimus 4X HD, unveiled earlier this year at the Mobile World Congress, is the company's entry in the high-end quad-core smartphone segment.

The smartphone HD boasts of a quad-core NVIDIA 1.5GHz Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM. It runs on Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich OS. Measuring 8.9 mm in thickness, the device sports a 4.7-inch touchscreen HD-IPS display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels.

Optimus 4X sports an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP camera in the front for video chat. The phone has 16GB internal storage expandable via microSD card.

The LG Optimus 4X HD is priced at Rs 34,990.

Priced at Rs 13,199, LG Optimus L5 is a mid-range phone. The smartphone comes pre-installed with Android 4.0 or Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. It has an 800MHz processor with 512MB of RAM.

There's a 4-inch TFT LCD capacitive Touch HVGA display. Connectivity options include NFC and Bluetooth 3.0. There is 5MP camera at the back. For storage, there's 4GB internal storage expandable up to 32GB via a microSD card.
