NEW DELHI: Information technology devices maker Intex Technologies today launched a mobile handset with an in-bulit projector to combine projection with mobility at a price of Rs16,000.
“The handset will be available in the range of Rs15,000 to Rs16,000 in the market,” Intex Technologies Executive Vice-Chairman Ramesh A Vaswani said here.
Besides, the company plans to launch 3G-enabled handsets in the next quarter of current fiscal (January-March) and is also looking to make their entry into the smartphones category during the same period.
The phone is a touch-screen Dual SIM variant and has dual screen mode (phone screen mode and projector screen mode simultaneously active). It also has dual camera and dual card memory slot of 8 GB each, to expand the internal memory of 64 MB.
“The phone receives multi-media content remotely through GPRS connectivity,” Intex Head (Centre for Design & Development) Debu K Dasgupta said.
The company expects to sell about 75,000 units of handsets by March FY11.
The company has invested upto Rs3 crore in the product launch.
