If you don’t know where you keep storing your data on your computer, you need a file indexing facility on your Windows machine.
This is useful if you need to do a lot of searches for information and their file locations. Many users are not aware of this feature and therefore don’t do it. Here’s how to get started.
1. Go to My Computer, and right click on your hard drive
2. You’ll see a box that says “Allow Indexing Service to index the disk for fast file searching” and uncheck it.
3. Hit OK and you’re done.
