Tech majors including Apple and Amazon are investing in custom chips to enhance device performance. Japanese air conditioner manufacturer Daikin Industries plans to use custom-made chips to improve energy savings in its products. Daikin will partner with a Japanese design company to customize logic chips for inverters used in its air conditioners.
